Breyer Surfer's Riptide Chincoteague Pony
The Breyer Surfer's Riptide Chincoteague Pony celebrates a stallion from the famous Chincoteague pony herd of Virginia’s Assateague Island. Foaled in 2009, Surfer’s Riptide is a flaxen chestnut stallion with distinctive white markings, much like his sire, Surfer Dude. A “buyback” foal, Riptide was auctioned with the stipulation that he be returned to the herd, where he has since sired numerous foals, including descendants with bloodlines tracing back to the legendary Misty.
Released in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the Chincoteague Pony Swim and Auction in 2025, this Traditional Series model honors an enduring piece of Chincoteague history. A portion of proceeds from each model supports the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company and the Museum of Chincoteague. Traditional Series, 1:9 scale, for ages 8 and up.
